This is my first character design concept 'The hoarda'. I am constantly trying to learn new tools and techniques, so I put together the initial idea of designing a character to develop my Cinema 4D skills as well as creating a character to represent the brand. I am also continuously trying to develop my own style in an effort to ultimately create something recognisable as my own. Bearing this in mind I wanted the character to be a little different to the characters I had already seen, so I began to think of facial features or accessories that I hadn't previously seen rendered in 3D. After some experimental rendering, the jewel-encrusted gold tooth is the idea I finally decided to move forward with. I choose this because I knew I would gain a wide variety of experience in creating multiple new materials, learning how they interact. During the creation of this, I also learnt a valuable skill in how to use 2D paths created in Illustrator for creating 3D objects in Cinema 4D. Overall, creating something visually interesting. This is an early experimental step into potentially creating more complex characters while always learning more and more.
